Here in Renata there is room to breathe, dangle your toes in the water, and leave the fast paced world behind.
Renata is a scenic one hour drive North-West of Castlegar, or one and a half hours from Nelson or Trail, in the heart of the West Kootenays, BC. The drive is on a combination of paved and dirt roads, and a short boat ride across the West shore of the Lower Arrow Lake.
Once in Renata you are removed from the rest of the world! There are no stores, no stop signs or traffic lights, no paved roads, or even cell phone coverage. You are truly removed from all of life’s distractions.

Renata’s “Simply Delicious” Lodge sits on 7 acres of forested grounds, with hammocks, covered decks and sitting areas, manicured perennial gardens and walking trails at your disposal.
The Lodge is a five minute walk away from two distinct beaches, and we offer the use of bicycles, a canoe or a rowboat for your active pleasure.
Nearby are two fantastic areas to hike to. A short walk from the Lodge is the trailhead to Dog Falls, which is an hour long hike in to a stunning set of 70 foot high waterfalls cascading down Dog Creek. This hike can be done in most weather conditions, and requires good sturdy footwear for safety.
The Renata Natural Arch is the largest natural stone arch in British Columbia. The Arch is a 20 minute boat ride and a 45 minute hike away, and is an exceptional example of the forces of nature, offering spectacular views of the Arrow Lakes, Deer Park and the geography and geology of the West Kootenays. This hike is recommended for people in reasonable fitness, as the final 600 feet are challenging.
We offer guided hikes to Dog Falls or the Renata Natural Arch, as well as wildlife or fishing excursions and historical tours of the area. Please inquire for rates.
Come and enjoy Renata’s natural beauty for awhile.
